OMS/Vegan Basil Cashew Cheese Recipe
Here's another winner I picked up from the beauty website www.ohsheglows.com
I was missing some good old fashioned italian comfort food so I googled and googled and ohsheglows popped up with this amazing sauce. I incorporated layers of it into my vegan lasagne and it was DELICIOUS! It substitutes that cheesy layer in lasagne so well and it's all healthy, vegan and OMS friendly.
1 cup raw cashews soaked over night or for 30 mins and drained
1/4 cup vege stock
1.5 cups fresh basil leaves
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Sea salt to taste
Add it all to a high speed blender and whiz till smooth and creamy. Layer it into your lasagne. Freeze any leftovers in an airtight container.
