Vegan Dhal - OMS Compliant


This recipe is so easy and delicious. It's fully vegan, gluten free, OMS friendly and it contains anti-inflammatory turmeric and ginger. It can also be thrown together quickly at 6pm when your scrambling to find something healthy for dinner.



  • 2 cups of orange lentils

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 red pepper diced

  • 1 red onion diced

  • 1 Massel vegetable stock cube

  • 3 garlic gloves finely diced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

  • Juice of half a lemon

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp curry powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • Pinch cayenne pepper

  • 2-3 bay leaves

  • Big pinch sea salt

  • Cracked pepper to taste


Put all of the ingredients including the water in to a big pot and mix with a wooden spoon. Turn the heat on and bring to the boil then let it simmer for 20-30 minutes until it's thickened to a porridge consistency. If it seems too runny keep cooking until its reduced and thicker. Serve with steamed greens and quinoa with a sprinkle of coriander πŸƒ.
